This double Dorset family history was published to mark the 100th birthday of Doreen Ada Sharpe (née Davis).
The Davises were village folk who became farmers, to the extent that at one point, Doreen’s father, Jesse, was farming in Dorset at the same time as all eight of his brothers and sisters.
The Sharpes were a Sherborne family, town-dwellers, whose talents added to the richness of the life around them. The two families were brought together by Doreen’s marriage to Leonard Walter Sharpe in 1943.
