A seasoned family and local historian, Barbara uses this knowledge to contribute a regular column to the Sherborne Times, a local monthly magazine. She has a long family connection with Dorset and, in particular, the villages of Lower and Nether Compton, and in her book she uses her family’s story to shed light on village life in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
