Having developed a flair for local history through membership of the Dorset County Boundary Survey, Jim became particularly interested in old routes, and his book on the Sherborne turnpikes is the result. Already a regular contributor to Dorset’s learned journals, he is now working on a history of the church of St Nicholas in Sandford Orcas and the story revealed by the church monuments.
