Laurence is a professional artist working in Sherborne, where his work is much appreciated by everyone. He is a painter of light and atmosphere, fascinated by sunlight, especially on water. Although his subject matter may have changed over the years, along with his approach (his recent work has concentrated more on shape, line and colour), his constant has always been to try to capture the sensation of light rather than just a picture of it. Having painted in many countries and enjoyed them all, Laurence finds his greatest satisfaction in the endless stream of subject matter provided by the working countryside of Dorset.
